چکیده

z Abstract AQUA is an integrated resource management architecture for an end-system that can deliver desired QOS to multimedia applications. The proposed architecture (called AQUA for Adaptive End-system Quality of Service Architecture) includes a common framework for managing resources such as CPU, network interface, memory, and bus bandwidth. Contributions of AQUA include an adaptation framework, QOS speciication, resource managers, and an application-level QOS manager that performs application-based graceful adaptation when resource requirements change or the demand for resources exceeds available capacity.

Network Resource Management for Improving Users Quality of experience in Software Defined Network by Weighted Fuzzy Petri-NetMethod

The rapid rise in popularity of multimedia applications, such as VoIP, IPTV and Video Conferencing, intensifies the need to consider resource management for user satisfaction. Furthermore, improving Quality of Experience (QoE) in Software Defined Networks (SDNs) services is one of the important issues to be addressed by provisioning optimum resource management. In this paper, resource allocatio...

Adaptive Resource Management in a Multimedia Operating System

This paper highlights the need for adaptive resource management within the endsystem, in addition to the provision of basic QoS guarantees, in order to maximize the users’ perceived performance of their applications at any given time within the limits of the physical resources available. A prototype system developed within the Nemesis multimedia operating system [7] is described. The system pro...

Predictable File Access Latency for Multimedia

Multimedia applications are sensitive to I/O latency and jitter when accessing data in secondary storage. Transparent adaptive prefetching (TAP) uses software feedback to provide multimedia applications with file system quality of service (QoS) guarantees. We are investigating how QoS requirements can be communicated and how they can be met by adaptive resource management. A preliminary test of...

A Fuzzy Based Approach for Rate Control in Wireless Multimedia Sensor Networks

Wireless Multimedia Sensor Networks (WMSNs) undergo congestion when a link (or a node) becomes overpopulated in terms of incoming packets. In WMSNs this happens especially in upstream nodes where all incoming packets meet and directed to the sink node. Congestion in networks, if not handled properly, might lead to congestion collapse which deteriorates the quality of service (QoS). Therefore, i...
